The Airsled Appliance Mover is designed to move most major appliances including refrigerators, washers, dryers, freezers, ranges and stack units. Please read the following instructions carefully.

BEFORE USING THE AIRSLED APPLIANCE MOVER

1. Remove objects from the top of the appliance;

it is also recommended that breakables be secured or removed.

2. Measure the overhead clearance between the highest point of the appliance and overhead cabinets, ceiling or overhanging fixtures.

If less than 2", see TIPS FOR UNUSUAL CIRCUMSTANCES.

3. Shut of all gas or water going into the appliance.

4. If moving a refrigerator, remove the front bottom grill.

5. Once they become accessible, disconnect gas tubing, ice maker connections and any other fixtures, hoses or tubing connected to the appliance. Unplug all electrical cords.

PROCEDURES UNDER NORMAL CONDITIONS

When both the front and rear of the appliance are at least 1/4" but no more than 2" off the floor.

  1. Slide the plates under the appliance as far as they will go, They should extend all the way through the rear of the appliance. NEVER FORCE THE PLATES. If they do not slide under freely, then see next page.
  2. Position the plates as far distant from each other as possible, but no closer than 1/4" from each leveling leg. On most ranges you can position plates under bottom drawer.
  3. Make sure all hose fittings are snug, and connect the blower to a grounded power source.
  4. Place one hand on top of the appliance and turn the blower on, For safety, the on/off switch should be readily accessible while in operation.
  5. Move the appliance with both hands - SLOW AND STEADY, avoid rocking the now floating appliance in a manner that causes the corners of the plates to make sudden contact with the floor. Move to desired location.
  6. Be sure all electrical cords and tubing are accessible and not under the appliance or plates. Turn the blower off.
  7. When disconnecting hoses from lifting plates, grasp the end fittings firmly and pull. Do not pull on the hoses.
  8. Remove the plates from under the appliance by sliding them flat on the floor. If either catches on chassis bolts, angle it so that it will continue to slide out easily.

TIPS FOR UNUSUAL CIRCUMSTANCES

FLOOR SURFACE PROBLEMS

The smoother the surface, the easier it is to move an appliance with an Airsledīƒ’ system. If moving the appliance over CARPET, A DIRTY FLOOR OR OTHER POROUS SURFACE, slide one plastic adaptor under each plate (after the lifting plates are in position under the appliance) and place the other two adaptors in front and tuck under the first adaptors. Turn on the blower and glide the appliance from one set of adaptors to the next. If moving farther than 3", reuse the first set of adaptors to extend the non-porous track (a vinyl or plastic runner may be used instead of adaptors). Always overlap the adaptors in the direction you're moving.
When passing from an uncarpeted to carpeted area, simply make tracks of carpet adaptors using the end-to-end method. Use carpet adaptors over door jambs, closet tracks, thresholds, etc.

LOW OVERHEAD CLEARANCE

There should be at least 1-1/2" clearance between the top of the appliance and any overhead cabinets, ceiling or other overhanging fixtures. The force of the plates lifting the appliance is great enough to collapse or unhinge an overhanging fixture. If the overhead clearance is between 1/2 and 1-1/2", it still may be possible to move the appliance by opening the air release valve at the top of the T-Connector on the hosing, before turning on the blower, and by rapidly switching the blower on and off to provide enough air for movement without an high and forceful lift.

CAN'T SLIDE LIFTING PLATES UNDER FRONT OF APPLIANCE

Tilt the front of the appliance by pushing against the top front. With your foot, slide a 1/2" thick block of wood, book or magazine under one corner. There should now be enough space to slide each lifting plate under opposite sides of the appliance. When repositioning in the new location, replace the 1/2" block under the front corner Before turning off the blower, Reverse the procedure, and remove the 1/2" block After setting down the appliance.

LIFTING PLATES WILL NOT GO THROUGH TO REAR OF APPLIANCE WITHOUT FORCING

If the plates are hitting rear wheels, Before inflating the plates, grab the appliance with both hands and roll it forward onto the un-inflated lifting plates. The plates should now extend through the rear of the appliance. After repositioning, reverse the process, If the side of the appliance is accessible, slide lifting plates through the side using side entry approach.
If the side is not accessible, align the plates in a "V" shape so that the outside corners of each are positioned under the sides of the appliance.

IF FLOATING APPLIANCE IS LOWER IN REAR THAN FRONT

Stepping on front of the inflated plates near the hose connections will force more air to the back. Move the floating appliance toward you 6 to 12". Turn the blower off. Check to see if the plates will easily slide further under. The closer the front of the appliance is to the hose fittings (ideally to the warning label), the easier it is to move.
